Western Metro All-In Doorknock: Werribee and Tarneit

We will be meeting at 12pm at Powell Reserve, near Hoppers Crossing Station. We will head out in doorknocking teams to let people know about local candidates Sue Munro for Werribee and Leah Van Keulen for Tarneit

Sue is a nurse, mum of two, and activist of more than 20 years. Sue knows the hardships many people in Werribee face from paying rent, to sub-standard public transport, to overcrowd roads, to limited healthcare options, to an understaffed hospital that will not provide reproductive freedom to women. Sue has been fighting for working class people for two decades and wants to take that fight to parliament.

Leah is a proud teacher and unionist, who was involved in the historic campaign and strikes by teachers in Victoria this year. Teaching in the western suburbs for nine years, Leah has seen first hand the impact decades of neglect by Labor has had on working class kids and their families. She wants to fight to make them a priority for the people in power, while also taking a stand against the racist and divisive politics spreading across the country.

Please bring a car, if possible, so we can reach all areas of the electorates.

If you’re new to doorknocking, don’t worry! You will be paired up with an experienced volunteer who can show you the ropes and you will be provided with some useful talking points. There will also be plenty of time to get to know other volunteers before and after the doorknock, with a debrief happening at a pub nearby.

What to bring:

• Comfortable shoes

• A car, if possible

• Water, sunscreen/weather-appropriate gear

• Your energy and enthusiasm! And rage at the system of capitalism!
