Grill The Rich: A Socialist Manifesto for the South East

South East Melbourne has always been an area where diverse working class communities have made their lives. Under decades of rule by Labor MPs, we have seen our schools neglected, our healthcare stretched to breaking point, and our housing becoming unaffordable. But this crisis has not impacted everyone - our capitalist class has been living large. Billionaires in Australia have increased their collective wealth by $25.7 billion over the last year, while 3.7 million Australians lived in poverty.

Victorian Socialists has a vision of a different way to run society. The capitalists need our labour to make them profits, and so much of that labour happens here in the South East. In our Socialist Manifesto, we argue that these profits should be directed back to our suburbs to improve our quality of life and to fully fund the services we need.

Come and join us at 12pm, Dandenong Park! We will have a barbeque running, and we will have plenty of socialist merch and manifestos for sale for fundraising! Have you been keen on meeting the Socialist Party candidates? We will have many candidates around to chat to and ask questions. We will also hold a workshop for how to talk to people about socialism!

The event is open for everybody, and will be child friendly! There will be Halal and vegan options.
