Join Louise O’Shea of the Red Flag editorial committee and Marty Hirst, journalist, author and member of Victorian Socialists, for a conversation on the political role of the media today.
The event will launch Marty’s new book, There’s no good news: Journalism, crisis and philosophy of praxis. The book argues that journalism reinforces ruling class interests, how ideology shapes reporting on issues such as Gaza and capitalism’s wider crisis, and how a materialist approach to journalism can support collective action and social change.
